We're proud of our participation in community projects and service organizations, both as individuals and as an engaged corporate citizen. Some of the organizations we support include:
American Heart Association
The American Heart Association is a national voluntary health agency whose mission is: "Building healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke." The association's impact goal is to reduce coronary heart disease, stroke and risk by 25 percent by 2010.
Big Brothers Big Sisters
Big Brothers Big Sisters is the oldest, largest and most effective youth mentoring organization in the United States. They have been the leader in one-to-one youth service for more than a century, developing positive relationships that have a direct and lasting impact on the lives of young people. The Big Brothers Big Sisters Mission is to help children reach their potential through professionally supported, one-to-one relationships with mentors that have a measurable impact on youth. Their vision is successful mentoring relationships for all children who need and want them, contributing to brighter futures, better schools, and stronger communities for all.
Cabrini Partnership
Cabrini Partnership provides housing and supportive services for up to two years in a setting that facilitates increased self-sufficiency for individuals with chemical dependency and mental illness. Cabrini Partnership also provides permanent supportive housing for individuals who are persistently mentally ill and who need a safety net of support. These residents include individuals who previously had lived in the Cabrini Transitional Housing Program, as well as long-term homeless adults and families who come directly from “the street” or emergency shelters.
Greater Minneapolis Crisis Nursery
Greater Minneapolis Crisis Nursery works in partnership with parents in crisis and the community to strengthen families and prevent child abuse and neglect. They support families in crisis 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
March for Babies
A short 5-mile fun walk for March for Babies around the lakes adds up. This year SALO/Oberon/NumberWorks had over 50 people participate in the walk, sponsored a "celebration station" on one of the routes and raised over $4,000 for research, outreach, educators, and advocates to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects and infant mortality.
Minneapolis Harbor Light Center
The Minneapolis Harbor Light Center provides emergency assistance, shelter, housing, chemical dependency treatment, transitional housing, health care services and spiritual support to its clients.
Ronald McDonald House Charities
Ronald McDonald House Charities is dedicated to improving children’s access to the highest quality health care. For example, the Ronald McDonald House, allows families to access specialized medical treatment by providing a place to live at little to no cost. The Ronald McDonald Care Mobile provide high quality medical, dental and health education to those with the greatest barriers to accessible health care.
Second Harvest Heartland
Second Harvest Heartland serves to end hunger through community partnerships. The organization distributes more than 41 million pounds of food and grocery products annually to over 1,000 agencies and programs in Minnesota and Wisconsin, as well as directly serving individuals and families.
Congratulations and many thanks to all our associates who contributed 700 pounds of food and $395 to the recent Second Harvest Food and Fund Drive!
Sharing and Caring Hands
Last year LawgicSearch, SALO, Oberon and NumberWorks donated over 600 items to Sharing and Caring Hands including hats, mittens and scarves to children and young adults.
Vine and Branches
Vine and Branches is an organization that supports single parents preparing to enter the work force or struggling to make ends meet on an entry-level salary. The organization has several tools in place that are intended to be supportive of those who need help stretching limited budgets. For these people, and others in crisis situations, the organization offers a clothing center that includes household items, a limited-use, free laundry, physical and spiritual support and assistance, and quality clothing, toys, books, and household items at a minimal price.
Washburn Center for Children
For over 125 years, Washburn Center for Children has been helping children and their families with social, emotional, and behavioral problems lead successful lives. Washburn helps them at home, in school and in their community by helping to develop skills, resolve issues, and connect with supportive resources. Washburn is committed to providing supportive services as well as advocating for children’s mental health. Washburn Center for Children has remained focused on its founder’s vision to provide help to children “without question or distinction as to age, sex, race, color or religion.”
Women's Foundation of Minnesota
The Women’s Foundation of Minnesota funds and builds the capacity of innovative programs for growing the equality of women and girls statewide. They conduct valuable research and use it to inform grantmaking, educate opinion shapers and policymakers, and raise public awareness. They also measure social change with specific indicators for tracking progress and promote women’s philanthropy. Women's Foundation of Minnesota also provides their donors with important training and tools to help shape a just society.
